This is a blend of malt whiskies, with an emphasis on 8 year old Highland malt from a first fill Bourbon cask. Out of the cask the color is of fine tanned leather, accentuated in this blend to the color of fine old amontillado sherry. Out of the numerous flavors and aromas, chocolate stands out as dominant giving it the smoothness suggested by the name. Sophistication comes from the lively citrus hint, but a slight tinge of heather can also be detected reflective of the blend’s ethnic roots. This whisky is not chill-filtered and so contains all its original goodness. This means that under certain conditions it may go cloudy.
