Lismore The Legend is a 21-year-old Speyside single-malt scotch that comes beautifully packaged in a leather tube and contained by one of the largest corks in the industry. Bottled in 2008 after 21 years of maturity in sherry hogshead casks, this Lismore bottling is limited to only 1,800 bottles.

Single-malt scotches from Lismore are often called “mystery malts” because they are a bottling company, not a traditional distillery. The notes on the nose are varied, ranging from coconuts and other dry fruits to sweet smells of maple syrup and toffee. On the palate, the taste is earthy and very interesting as the sherry, and spices take the full effect of their two decades-plus in the casks. The finish is medium in length and simple in taste. While there are hints of an oily residue, the coconut flavor is also prominent in the end.
